, a scarce souvenir of A Portion of the Original Dome of the State Capitol Building, Pierre, So. Dak. Erected 1908 Removed 1964 Nils A. Boe, Governor. Measures approximately 3.25" x 1" (chain not included in measurement). These are scarce! A great souvenir of South Dakota's past! From what I have been able to find, the elongated dog tag style souvenir is from the copper of the original state capitol dome.
Large sections of copper dome covering the capitol were removed during the 1964 renovation. These souvenirs were made from the original copper used in the 1908 construction of the dome. It is wonderfully preserved in a limited hand-made award presentation tag with descriptive stamping. Will ship USPS First Class 2 - 3 day (their words - not mine), with tracking.
For conditions, please review photos closely using the magnifying tool or zoom in! In good shape with natural signs of age and use. Some very minor issues/chipping on back front edge (opposite chain), likely original to its production. Otherwise in great shape! Appears to have protective coating over the copper?
